Traffic Accident Sightseeing

When the flying pig was in Shanghai two years ago, he and Ai ren were amused by the fact that they saw traffic accidents almost each time that they went anywhere in Shanghai. One might think that the two youngsters lacked respect for the involved, but that’s another topic. Anyways they began to take take photos with themselves and crashed cars or people fighting over minor traffic accidents. Anyways, all of this flew back into the flying pig’s mind when he and his Swedish classmate went to the airport two days ago. Two large trucks hit each other in the lane next to their taxi. It sounded like a bomb, even though the speed of the trucks were very low, as the dust filled the road.
Yesterday the flying pig and the little tiger were on their way back to their apartment after buying some groceries when they suddenly saw an angry middle aged man running and dragging a young man of his scooter, almost breaking his arm. It turned out that the middle aged man was a public bus driver and apparently the young man had scratched the public bus with his scooter. A small crowd was gathering while the bus driver was very physical with the young man. The young man called the police and said the driver had physically abused him.
So far the flying pig has been lucky and escaped major traffic accidents. He has only experienced two during his short life. Once in France and once on the way to the airport in Chengdu. The public bus he was traveling with hit some car, but they only exchanged phone numbers, since the passengers had flights to catch.
Today the biggest news in Chengdu is the explosion of a public bus on line number 9 on the way from the train station. So far 20 people has been reported as dead. Apparently the bus exploded by itself due to malfunction or something. There is no mention of a bomb or any connection to the 20th year anniversary of the Tiananmen square reported (since nothing happened there 20 years ago).
Anyways, the flying pig is not surprised that there are so many accidents since there don’t seem to be any traffic rules here. When the road is clear just walk, drive or whatever and don’t forget to honk your horn as often as possible.

Sincerely yours
Fei Zhu, the living traffic accident
