Maundy Thursday
Dear cineasts,
the last couple of days has been has been uneventful for the flying pig. Apart from studying his distance courses (the deadlines coming up soon) he managed to squeeze in an activity in his schedule. Thursday evening he went downtown to the main campus with Cai Cai (the vegetable) and Fan Fan (the meal). The three muskequeers had been chosen to be the judges of a movie/sitcom dubbing competition arranged by the freshmen students of the Tongji school of software engineering. 17 groups had chosen a movie/sitcom clip and then they did a live dubbing performance to practice their English. They had chosen all kinds of movies from Gossip Girls, Southpark, WALL E to the Shawshank Redemption. Later the flying pig found out that the students participated not because they wanted to and enjoyed it but because they would earn some credits for their English course. Anyways, there were some amusing moments and the flying pig gave the highest scores to the team dubbing The Corpse Bride. Afterwards the people arranging the dubbing competition and the three muskequeers went out for some dinner (all treated by Tongji). They had some barbecued fish and some other nice dishes, among them one that the late great Mao liked. Afterwards the three muskequeers took a taxi back to Jiading (also payed by Tongji). This is the second time in two months that the Fei Zhu has been treated beer by Tongji University…
Sincerely Yours
Fei Zhu
